Despite having a blog for over a year now, yesterday I manned up and went to my first ever blogging event. I’ve never really thought of myself as a worthy blogger prior to this – thinking that meet ups and workshops were only for the “real” bloggers. But since I announced to my husband here that I actually AM a real blogger, I guess my self image is changing and boy am I glad I finally got over my hang ups and went along.

The Hello Blogger Events Say Hello Workshop was an awesome showcase of Brisbane blogging talent.  There will no doubt be some great posts written  about the pearls of wisdom shared at the sessions; I certainly don’t feel I can do justice to the likes of Kelly @ Be a Fun Mum & Jacqui @ CRAP Mumma who spoke on developing content, revealing that following your passion and finding balance is the key to making your blog grow. I most definitely can not give a “fair and accurate account” of all the legal ins & outs bestowed on us by Stacey @ Veggie Mama or the advertising options highlighted by Maddie @ Li’l Magoolie .

However, I can unequivally say that these woman truly know their stuff. They are also amazingly approachable and generous with their time and knowledge. So were Danielle @ Five Little Reasons and Zoe @ Boys Mumma when it came to sharing tips on photography and Sass @ Moo Zoo Designs for giving us insight into the land of design.

Melissa @ Suger Coat It and Danielle @ Hello Owl did an amazing job organising the day. I learnt so much, asked LOTS of stupid questions and met a whole bunch of amazing people.

All that stress trying to produce blog biz cards even paid off because I  won this gorgeous lucky door prize which was donated by Lisa @ Here I am Lou Lou

And we all scored some beaut freebies in our goodie parcel including a divine button brooch from Gillian @ Tessie Girl.

It was also just great to meet gorgeous fun loving like-minded bloggers like the gals from Our Life in Blog Form, Happy House Wifey & Wait Until Sunset.

This workshop was certainly the highlight of Wonderful Weekend! Thanks to everyone for making it an awesome day. I can’t wait until next time!

Linking up with Life Love & Hiccups to share the love!

PS I know there are lots of links in this post but do yourself a favour and check out some of the blogs you may have not heard of before. You won’t be disappointed.

It was really cool meeting you yesterday, didn’t get to catch up again through the day. If you were worried about going with “your little blog” Imagine how I felt!

By the way I was right with you on that question about the tags, I thought that’s what they were for.

Great meeting you, too! And I’m so glad you said that about the tags – if the tech tip guy didn’t know it then I’m not as technologically challenged as I feared!!
