Don’t be disappointed but I am not about to reveal any deep dark secrets of a tortured childhood or enlighten you regarding my (non existent!) penchant for kinky fuckery.

There have been many shades of me – mostly a dull beige but sometimes a warm caramel or a dark chocolate. In recent times there has been a fair amount of not so pleasant black.

But I am recently feeling a much brighter shade. A nice bright fresh shade.

Tiffany blue? Mint green? Or perhaps my favourite shade of cherry blossom pink.

For some undefinable reason I feel “new”. It’s weird really, because I’ve been as sick as a dog for almost a month, so physically have felt nothing short of horrid. Somehow under all that however, there has been a shift. It’s been a slow continental drift – a long time coming but the tectonic plates are finally starting to settle.

I rabbit on here and here about being cool, but I’m starting to realise that was just lip service. Part of the journey. I’m actually starting to believe those words.

I’m reveling in a new found love of quirky style (I was soooo vanilla!) Recognising my passions. Embracing my personal strengths. Acknowledging my weaknesses and generally feeling comfortable in my own skin.

Why has it taken me 31 years to get here?

What shade are you?

Oh, I am so very grey-grey-grey… and lumpy… tonight. I’m sick, sore throat and really need to get to bed with a cup of cocoa. But on a good day I see myself as a cool and calm sea green, love that colour.

The Indian colours in the photo look absolutely beautiful.
