I am full up to the eye balls with stuff.

Everywhere I look there are

Bits and Pieces.

I am not a hoarder.

At least not in the clinically diagnosed sense.

There is just too much crap in my life.

Some things get used, day in and day out.

Some things have been gifted, sentimental and cherished.

Some may have a use someday, kept just in case.

Most of these Bits I can make my peace with.

But I can no longer stand the Pieces

of paper, of wood and of plastic.

The screws, the loose batteries which may be flat… or not.

The pen that works sometimes.

The broken toys piling up along with their broken promises to be fixed.

The party favours that are now trash but yet still treasured by the favoured.

All of these these Pieces bring me no PEACE.

They crowd my mind.

A weight on my shoulders.

For, of course, it is my responsibility to find all Bits and Pieces a place.

Me, finder of all things lost.

I could just walk away from it all and start again.

  1. Bit and pieces drive me nuts. I end up throwing them all out. My “office” is a mass of bits at the moment. That is probably why my writing sucks lately. Too many distractions and I can’t relax. Yay!! At least I found an excuse. Have a great day. Rachel xx

  2. oh, I’m hearing ya! Bits & Pieces driving me nuts at the moment too. I find it simmers for ages, then I just go “enough” and do a massage day of throwing things out to make me feel better, even though still heaps of it around. Hope you can find some easy homes for the bits and a nice big rubbish bin for the pieces :)

  4. I get irritable if my house is cluttered. I can’t concentrate and eventually, I hit breaking point, which it sounds like you have done. Just start with one room. Make it a small one, and then move on to the next. Good luck!

bits and pieces have their own special cupboard in our home… and then when we are going crazy trying to find something we go to the bits and pieces cupboard and forget what it was we were looking for because we are busy finding new treasures!

It really can be so draining having bits and pieces of stuff everywhere. Best of luck with purging, sorting and organising. I always find it so therapeutic. :)

I understand where you are coming from. I always have bits and pieces around, as you never know when you will need them!!!! We are moving in Feb, and that is going to be my way of combatting it. I have already started to thin things out :-)

I’ve been doing a huge cull lately of all the bits and pieces, and trying to not be nostalgic. My thoughts are that maybe somebody could love this stuff more than me.

  15. OMG Bits and peices totally do my head in too! I am a ruthless chucker married to a hoarder. Fortunately he limits it to the garage and keeps the junk out of the house, but I struggle with throwing away things I think have memories attached to them. I am so like you in that I get all arghhh with bits and peices lying around and to me a cluttered space equals a cluttered mind and I just need to purge everynow and then lol Geez just talking about decluttering gets me all excited xx
